Southern Africa Discovered Destination Management, Tours & Safaris
To our dear guests and travellers,
The Coronavirus pandemic has spread to South Africa, with the first case confirmed on 5 March 2020 by Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize.
As of 23 March 2020, there were a total of 402 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with zero deaths.
Given the scale and the speed at which the virus is spreading, it is now clear that no country is immune from the disease or will be spared its severe impact. The South African Government has declared a national state of disaster in terms of the Disaster Management Act.
On the announcement of the State of Disaster on 15 March 2020, we immediately implemented disaster and emergency protocols for our guests and travellers, all whom have been re-booked.
In consultation with our clients, tours and safaris have been postponed to convenient dates in the future, most of them for 2021; at a time when as a country and region we can welcome you with open arms and our usual warm hospitality.
All recommendations made by the Department of Tourism and any further procedures issued by the Department of Health will be adhered to.
We are in this together. Our thoughts are with everybody working tirelessly on the frontlines in the health industry and we implore everyone to practice social distancing and self-isolation as indicated so we can flatten the curve and beat this virus together.
This too shall pass, and while as a tourism company we have and will be severely affected, we will use this time to reflect, re-invent ourselves and improve and expand our services knowing that the day will come to re-establish contact and you will allow us to make your 'bucket-list Southern African trip' a reality.
Until then, Africa will wait for you…
Stay Safe & Thank you,
The Cape Discovered
